Dharmaraj Patil, M. D. M.R.C.P (UK)
Dr. Patil graduated from Karnataka Medical College, Hubli, India and got his post graduate training in England. He was awarded the prestigious M.R.C.P (UK) degree from the Royal College of Physicians, UK. After receiving his specialization in Gastroenterology from England, Dr. Patil worked in Saudi Arabia as Consultant Gastroenterology for several years before immigrating to the United States. Dr. Patil did his residency at the Memorial Hospital (now part of University of Massachusetts) in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has worked in Atlanta since 1996 and started Metro Medical Associates in 1999.
Dr. Patil is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American Diabetes Association. He was also recognized by the National Council for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for his delivery of high quality of care for his patients with diabetes. He uses his extensive experience in Gastroenterology to treat patients with gastrointestinal conditions and performs in office EGD and Colonoscopy procedures.
Dr. Patil’s hobbies include gardening, walking his dogs, tennis and high altitude hiking in foreign countries.
Anurag Kumbham, M.D.
Dr. Kumbham completed medical school at Armed Forces Medical College in India in 1998. In 2000 he moved to the United States and joined University of Illinois, Chicago for Masters in Public Health. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Marshall University, Huntington WV in 2006. He has provided primary care in the Fort Benning area, Georgia till he joined Metro Medical Associates in 2013.
Dr. Kumbham’s focus is on preventive care and chronic medical conditions like Diabetes, Hypertension, lipid disorders and office procedures. Besides his special interests in Diabetes and endocrine disorders, he emphasizes spending time with a patient to provide utmost patient care.
Outside of work Dr. Kumbham spends most of his time with his family. He lives in northern Atlanta with his wife, a daughter and a son.
Bindu Alexander, M.D., M.R.C.P. (UK)
Dr. Alexander graduated from JJM Medical College in Davangere , India in 1996. She did her post graduate training in England and received the prestigious M. R.C.P. (UK) degree from the Royal College of Physicians, UK, in 1999.
Dr. Alexander moved with her husband to the US in 1999 and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the Atlanta Medical Center in 2005 and also obtained her board certification in Internal Medicine the same year. After providing primary care services in the Cobb area since 2005, Dr. Alexander joined Metro Medical Associates in 2008. Dr. Alexander’s field of interest is in preventive medicine with the focus on lifestyle changes in order to live a healthy and to avoid getting chronic illnesses such as Diabetes, Hypertension, and Cholesterol. When she is not treating patients she spends her time with her family. She enjoys reading, hiking/walking, traveling and meditation.
